Hot Work Tool Steel

Print

Characteristics

Hot work tool steels are steel grades used for operating temperatures constantly above 200°C. Due to contact of tool surface with hot material, termal load is further increased.

As a result, these steel grades are required to have high temperature strength, tempering resistance and high temperature wear resistance against termal fatigue.

Application Examples:

  • Dies
  • Tools and containers for metal tube and rod extrusion
  • Die casting tools

Finishing

  • hot rolled
  • forged
  • cold finished

Heat treatment

All standard heat treatment conditions are available.
