Characteristics

Plastic Mould tool steels are especially characterised by wear resistance, polishability, weldability (repairs) and in the case of certain grades by corrosion resistance.

Etchability also plays an important role with these steel grades.

Application examples:

  • Die casting
  • Blow moulding
  • Plastic moulds for automotive industry
  • Plastic moulds for consumer electronics

Finishing

  • hot rolled
  • forged
  • cold finished

Heat treatment

All standard heat treatment conditions are available.
